Listen, I get it. It's easy to get caught up in what other people are doing, who is or isn’t showing up as you expected, who is or isn't keeping their word, or what other people are or aren’t doing. I've been there. But let's cut the noise and get real for a second.
You know what the ultimate play in your playbook to freedom is? It's showing up for YOU regardless of anyone else. That's the game-changer. Then you do it every single day, regardless of the audience.
It's wild how much energy we waste keeping score. "They didn’t show up for me.” “They dropped the ball.” Newsflash: That scoreboard? It’s holding you back. It's like playing a game and only watching the opponents, not the ball. So, let's change the play.
Stop talking about them and start talking about YOU. What can YOU control? Your effort, your grind, your hustle. You think the greats got great by getting thrown off their game because someone else didn’t step up? Hell no. They focused on being the best version of themselves, irrespective of the chaos around them.
At the end of the day, the only person you need validation from is the one staring back at you in the mirror. So, if someone's flaking or not giving their 100%, that's on them. Don't let their shortcomings dictate your drive. When you are doing it for you, it doesn't matter what others do.
Ditch the distractions. Hone in on your journey. Make it your mission to wake up every morning and think, "How can I absolutely crush it today?" That's where the magic happens. That's when you start writing a story worth telling in your playbook to freedom.
The bottom line? Show up. Be authentic. Hustle hard. And above all, do it for YOU. Everyone else? They'll either join the journey, or they won’t. But you? You'll be leagues ahead, living the freedom life I know this, because I'm living it. I still need this reminder though!
